The mitre/butt and scribe service that Shawfit offer
includes:
the joints are cut to fit, glued and clamped with 3
worktop bolts. The joint is then sealed with colourfill,
a coloured mastic to match (as near as possible) the
colour of the worktop you have provided.
Joints are susceptible to water and heat. To stop
the laminate 'blowing' e.g. lifting at the joint, it
should be kept dry and should not be overheated, eg by
heating an electric kettle on the joint.
